Three peas in a pod…
I used to have the best garden in the neighborhood! The perfect soil, sunlight, shade, it was awesome. Seriously, it was beautiful and everyone that walked down the path commented on it. It’s not bragging if you’re telling the truth, right? 🙂
Do you know why I think it was flourishing? And no, I wasn’t “talking” to my plants (that’s a little coo-coo in my opinion). It is only because I tended to it daily. I watered, pruned, picked, fertilized, and weeded out intruders that weren’t healthy for the harvest. Well, isn’t that just like life…
I suppose we can consider our mind, body and soul to be a garden. That sounds a little “earthy”, however, the maintenance is probably very similar to gardening.
Daily nurturing. Watering is first – for growth. Pruning is essential – for even more growth. Â Fertilizing is necessary – for maximum growth. Ugh, and then there is weeding – can’t have those pesky dandelions choking out the daisies.
Whoa! Looks like we’d better go grab our gardening Tools. Don’t worry, you won’t need your sunblock for this.
The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail. Â – Isaiah 58:11 Â NIV
HA! No, this isn’t a picture of my garden. I wish! This was in Victoria, Canada. I am pretty sure that God is the Gardener there. It was a spectacular place.
