He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be Still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. – Mark 4:39 NIV
How do I follow that up with anything that I could possibly have to say? He calmed the sea, stopped the wind, and if we take note regarding his demeanor, Jesus didn’t appear to be frazzled. The God of all creation doesn’t get frazzled. The Holy Spirit doesn’t get frazzled. Calming Perfection.
When we lived on the beach, in the mornings on my walks there were many days when I felt the urge to grab a stick and write His name in the sand. I thought that maybe the next person to walk by may look down and see the Name Above All Names written in their path and who knows what could happen. Those little things that catch our eye can sometimes be life-changing.
We always think we need to do something great – what should I be doing more of – what is my purpose – why don’t I feel like I am making an impact… Here’s a thought, our little parts, something as simple as writing His name in the sand on a deserted beach, that matters. Even if nobody walks on the beach that day and the waves come and wash it away, HE saw it. And He saw you write it.
These guys saw you write it too, so be careful where you step…
