Interestingly enough, the origin of this phrase is unknown. I can guarantee you that whoever coined the phrase ‘grab the bull by the horns’ probably wasn’t referring to this guy (a Watusi that came from Africa – who I have named “Moe”- nooooo, he isn’t mine, so simmer). I imagine someone like John Wayne, instructing his son to go grab this guy -by the horns – just to teach his son how to wrestle – cowboy style. 🙂 John Wayne, The Duke, the Cowboy of all cowboys. The father of seven children, I’m sure he knew a little bit about fatherhood.
Men were equipped for leadership before they were born. To protect, provide, encourage, strengthen, lead, love, guide, all the things we associate with fatherhood.
A father. An Uncle. A Pastor. A Husband. A Brother. A Friend. I don’t believe that you must have children to assume a fatherly role. There seems to be much more to it. I have learned many life skills from men who are not my father. So yes, our idea of fatherhood involves actual children, yet men without children fill this role every day.
Let’s make time today to honor our heavenly Father, the Father that set the bar for fatherhood. Make time to honor the men He has blessed you with in your life. These are the men that God has chosen for you to do life with. Remember their stories, their achievements, their lives and their legacy. Here’s to another day that’s not just about us.
Honor your father and mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord your God is giving you. – Exodus 20:12 NIV
Happy Father’s Day ♥️
Thank you to The Father and to The men – raise the roof 👍
