Warriors of heaven

For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.  – Psalm 91:11,12 

I am not sure what your idea of God’s warriors is, but I can pretty much guarantee you what they are not – to quote Joyce Meyer (two days in a row) – “angels aren’t fat babies with wings, they are mighty warriors standing 14 feet tall”. Sounds like you will KNOW if you run into one of these guys!!

I believe there are also angels here on earth that look like us. That’s what the Bible says.

Do not forget to entertain strangers, for by so doing some people have entertained angels without knowing it.  – Hebrews 13:2

I think that we sometimes casually think, oh, that person just has the kindness of an angel. We consider people that put on kindness EVERY day to be angels. Perhaps they are. Or people that are generous, almost to a fault, they must be angels. Or what about the people that smile even when they are sitting in rush hour traffic without air conditioning – they SURELY are angelic beings. We are, in my opinion, too casual in our depiction of angels.

I do like the idea of sharing earth with angels. We can never have too many angels around us. What I like even more is the thought of sharing heaven with the capital “A” Angels! Mighty warriors that battle spiritual warfare from here to heaven. The kind of Angels that when seen in history made people fall to their faces on the ground trembling in fear, Angels. Messengers of GOD Angels. Protecting the Throne Angels. Fighting legions of demons Angels. Guardians of the universe Angels. I could seriously go on forever here. These guys are on their game in a mighty way. They know what’s going on. They know the mission. They have our six! (FYI: If someone’s got your six, it means they’ve got your back. This expression comes from the placement of numbers on an analog clock, and appears to have originated with military pilots in WWII. -WayWordRadio.org)

We don’t really think about that as much as maybe we should. I mean, who do you want having your six? I’ll keep asking God for the capital “A” Angels for the big stuff… I have a feeling that these are the guys that show up to take us Home.

Be on the lookout for the earthly angels… you just might be living with one.
