She’s a keeper

It’s Mother’s Day. Whether you have the best mom, had the best mom, want the best mom, or don’t even know your mom, you are blessed. You are blessed that a woman, whatever the circumstances may have been leading up to your birth, decided to bring you into this world. Whether it was due to perfect planning, pure joy, uncertainty, or even shock, there you were and here you are now.

I don’t believe in coincidences and one thing is certain, you weren’t a surprise to our Maker. You were and are chosen by the Most High and your mother was too!

Do you have an aunt, friend, grandmother, cousin, or someone else in your life that has taken on a motherly role and loved you through life? Pushed you, talked you up when you were down, hugged you when you really needed a good  “talking to”, stayed up late wondering where you were, punished you when you needed it and showed you what love was even when you weren’t exactly lovable? Thank them! Honor them. CALL THEM. Love them. Forgive them. Cherish them and take time to ask questions about their youth, their adulthood, how they are today, what they are planning for tomorrow. Get to KNOW your person. Better. She will certainly share some or all of her story with you. Her story is your story.

Kevin and I were blessed with furry children and not the human kind. As much as I love our animals, I just cannot even fathom the love a mother has for a child she carried inside her body for months and months.

People pray for miracles every day and for many types of miracles. In my opinion, the birth of a child is the truest and oldest miracle that probably exists. It is NEW life!

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.                         – Psalm 139:13   NIV

Happy Mother’s Day. EnJOY.
