It’s funny how God winks at you when you are least expecting it. He’s good like that.
Today I was thinking about how many times his right hand is mentioned in scripture. It dawned on me that for him to be holding me with his right hand, that I would be holding Him with my left hand. I then looked down to see my wedding ring. Married to the King. Sorry, hubs, Jesus comes first. The bride of Christ. Can anyone say, WOW!?
I remember sitting in a hospital alone one day while waiting for my lab results (I stopped in early to pick them up – I was always a step ahead of my doctors). I was a little bit anxious about my tumor markers, as they had been gradually increasing. That same morning before I headed out, my husband had sent me a picture of a right hand and the text simply said “He’s got you”.
I was given the envelope from the medical records department and I sat in a quiet area and opened it. It was good news. I smiled and walked outside to discover this large bronze statue standing in front of me. I thought it was St. Frances at first, being that the sculpture was holding a lamb and then I noticed the outreached hand. His hand. His right hand. It stopped me in my tracks. I then walked up and gently put my hand in His. Tears filled my eyes as I walked away. What a moment. He can always be found.
For I am the Lord, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you. -Isaiah 41:13 NIV
God winks, available to those who seek Him.
